We are all created like the stars. We are made of the cells that combine, divide and flow from our parents. And our parents’ cells didn’t come from nowhere; They were created from the same cell cycle. The grandmother’s remains exist within the girl’s womb, and so it continues.
And this circle is imitated in the stars. It is predictable and anticipated. As my area of Earth heads into a total solar eclipse next week, I think about the many ancient cultures who charted the cycles of the sun, moon, and stars. They approached an eclipse without any surprise, but with a deep understanding of the cyclical rhythm of the heavens.
This cycle feels full of purpose. I don’t come from nothing. I come from the connection. I come from flowing and expanding. I am both anticipated and seen. As scientist and writer Carl Sagon said: “we are all made of star stuff.” We are all part of the pattern, the rhythm, the cycle. We are all connected. And we are certainly not alone.
