Friday Thoughts: Life Lately – Mel’s Kitchen Cafe

Summer, summer, summer!

We took a family vacation during the spring holidays, so the children prepared in a realistic way that this summer would consist of a large extent at work schedules and not holiday schedules. 🙃

Family image in the resort.Family image in the resort.

My two teenagers living at home (16 and 17) are working full time in different landscaping companies. One is in the store of his work learning and making a small engine repair and the other is doing a lot of cuts, weed smoothies, building containment walls, etc.

My youngest daughter (13) is living her best life by spending a week at the grandmother’s house and then returning home to make and sell cookie dough to earn money for a tennis racket she really wants, work to make her first comforter (a really simple design that we find in ETSY here) and play many tennis. Thirteen is a great age, as his brothers remember him every day. 😉

Brian and the boys go to Alaska to fish in the depths of the sea with my father and several cousins and uncles in July, but otherwise, We are here at the base of operations And I’m not angry at that. The garden needs to attend, and the children are feeding a bottle with a calf that was born from one of our cows on our property, so that is a daily investment of time.

Mission/graduation updates

My third son, Cade, graduated last month and also received his mission call (for the Church of Jesus Christ of the last days) to New Zealand Wellington, Tongan Speaking. I think we were all a little surprised! My dad served a mission of the Church in Tonga in the 70s and never thought he would have one of his posterity that could speak the same language. It is very exciting (and a lot of work helping with the paperwork of the visa and the collection of clothing and supplies).

My son serving in the Philippines (Manila Mission) has been out for almost a year. He is thriving in the midst of very remote living conditions, and we love to speak with him on Sundays in the afternoon (his preparation day is Monday, but because he is far ahead of us, as for time, we talk to him on Sundays).

Margin Note: Without a doubt, all the favorite ties of my children are these (given to us originally by my sister -in -law, Mary, and have been my reference ties in the packages and preparing their missions).

Favorite things

  • These are my favorite monkeys for summer: Lazy, fluid, so comfortable
  • Cutest dress: The blue color is impressive! It is spacious (I am usually a medium and I have it small)
  • Comfortable cultivation denim jacket: This is probably a better article to share for the coolest climate, but I love this jacket! It has stretch, and is really soft and comfortable. I have it in the light blue color. The harvest is not severe: I think the length is perfect for dresses, especially.
  • Funny bracelet: I am not a great jewelry user, but I was influenced on Instagram to get this bracelet, and I can attest that the thousands of reviews do not lie. It is fantastic, and I always receive fulfilled. Sometimes I combine it with this when I’m really disguising myself. 😉
  • Really great sandals: These shoes are a bit waste, but they are up to the exaggerations (I have them in the natural color), they are also available on the website born. I have used them everywhere, from tourism in a small mountain town to church to children’s tennis games. They are incredibly comfortable and very beautiful dresses or lowers!
  • MOP and Cube with hands free: Ok, so a kind of deviation from the funny previous light fashion programs, but this muddy cube has saved me in recent months. I have fought with hand/doll pain for months, and drain my other mop was killing my fingers and hands. This mop has been a lifeguard for me! I am still using it even after the pain of my hand has begun to improve.

Quick note about work and blogs

I know that things are probably the same on the surface of my website, but there have been many things behind the scene. Most is a bit too technical/boring to share here.

However, I appreciate your patience if you notice publications or recipes or formato, it looks a bit unstable in the next moment. I am working feverishly to have everything in the form of the tip.

In the search in constant evolution to handle family life and working life and all intermediate life, I am at an exciting point but also overwhelming with food blogs. I have a long list of ways to improve my website to remain a lasting resource for proven and true recipes. My mission that began on this blog trip almost 18 years ago is still the same: Give him the best recipes of my life and stay faithful to what I am in the process.

Because my website and my business have grown up in a way that I could never have imagined, It is likely that in the very close future, be hiring someone to help me with some work related to work so that I can continue to focus on what I like most: create content, take food photos and publish and write about those recipes. I am very, very excited by the future and all the recipes and content that I have to share with you. 💗

1 year of anniversary

The incredible launch event for my cookbook was almost exactly one year ago!

I’m still overwhelmed by gratitude When I think of the hundreds of you who appeared that night (you can watch a snapshot video of the event here) and the thousands of you who have bought cooking books during the last year. His messages of how you use and love the kitchen book are a treasure, and read each and every one of them.

Thanks for all your support; It means a lot to me.

Talking about kitchen books, I just reserved these two kitchen books, and I am very excited to have them in my hands!

And that is a wrapping in this publication of Friday’s thoughts! More time than I expected, but I have always been a talkative, what can I say? 😉

Thanks for being here, friends.

Remember Chime below With anything and everything in your mind and heart right now! I am here for that. 🤍
