PBS Masterpiece Success Miss Scarlet and the Duke – which is now titled miss scarlet – has undergone a major rebrand following the departure of one of its main characters.
Stuart Martin has decided to leave Miss Scarlet and the Duke after four seasons playing William “The Duke” Wellington. Kate Phillipswho plays Miss Scarlet, continues to star.
He issued a statement explaining the reason.

Stuart said in a statement: “It has been an incredible joy to bring Duke to life through [series creator] Rachel [New]His beautiful, brilliant writing and being able to perform him for the last four years. But it seemed like the time was right for Scarlet to explore new storylines and challenges for now, as the show continues to grow and evolve. I will miss working with my amazing partner in crime. Kate and the rest of our brilliant family and team, but I’m excited to continue following Eliza and her adventures as a big fan and a newly enrolled Scarleteer!
