My 10 -year -old beef variety – The Fitnessista

Share more about why I started eating red meat again, how I feel and a friendly reminder that the best food strategy is what works for you. There is no shadow or judgment here.

Hello friends! How are you? I hope your week goes well! We have dinner with friends, family dinner in Madre’s, Mass, NCL, the usual fun things. This is our first full week of school + home education, so we are officially back in it. Good luck to all my mom friends while we return to chaos!

For today’s publication, I wanted to talk a little about the flesh. I realized that a couple of weeks ago this summer was my 10 years of meat after not eating red meat, or a lot of meat, during most of my life.

I stopped eating meat when I was eight because I read Tiger Beat that Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a vegetarian. As I was definitely going to marry him, he just needed to meet me, of course, he also had to be a vegetarian. (And yes, my parents tried totally to convince me, but I was a small stubborn thing and supported me).

I did not ate much meat until I was in high school and even then, it was a bit doubtful to me. Finally I added it during the university (eating under carbohydrates will force him to do it), I met the pilot, I saw a lot of documentaries and read a particularly scary book, and then I found myself again as a fishmail, then vegetarian and for a couple of years, a vegan.

I loved to eat plants and I still love vegan food. (A random fact about me is that I went to the Raw Vegan Culinary School. This chocolate cake is the best vegan cake that you will have in your life.) I had added fish, and just before becoming pregnant with Liv, I began to eat chicken again. Internet went crazy. That was also on the day a garbage post that took me 30 minutes to write would receive more than 100 comments. Those were the days haha.

When I was pregnant with P, I longed for a steak, so I got home and asked the pilot if one would roast.

You should have seen the joy on his face. It went to Whole Foods, grabbed a beautiful grass -fed steak, stolen it perfectly, and ate everything.

When I told my acupunturist, he said: “You need to eat meat and blood to make meat and blood.” Primal lol.

Since then, I have not really looked back, and now as meat several times a week. While I don’t think we need crazy protein amounts, I definitely think it is important. (I still think that fiber and micronutrients are the most important!)

Eating beef again after being vegetarian

Anyway, now that I have been everywhere in terms of meat consumption, here are some things that I have learned along the way:

– Quality makes the difference in the world. For me it is important that the products we use are responsible and sustainable. This is a great reason why we get almost all our Butcher Box meat, and also buy organic and grass options of Whole Foods and the farmers’ market.

– It is really a bioindiviaul thing. Like anything else, it depends on your body, preferences and unique needs. Some people feel horrible in high protein diets, while others thrive. In general, I feel that most women are doing very well with the nutrients that the meats provide. There are also certain nutrients that can obtain from animals based on animals, and I feel that they can be extremely nutritious and satisfactory. Honestly, I feel that I returned to life once I began to eat red meat again.

– If you want to achieve your protein goals, meal preparation is the best way to do it. I love making hard eggs, grated chicken, chicken meat and seasoned meat. P and I had bowls of ground meat with rice and avocado with one side of fruit for lunch almost every day last week.

– As I mentioned earlier, the protein/meat is only once a piece of puzzle. How much color is on your dish? How did you sleep? How is stress? How is your digestion? Cheer up? Cycle? Exercise? There are so many things that contribute to a complete routine, but nutrients are definitely a significant piece in how we feel and work.

So, tell me, friends: any vegetarian/vegan who has decided to eat meat again, or some new vegetarians/vegans? How is your experience going?

Friendly reminder that this is a non -Jewish space. I know that people can be excited about these things, but the reality is that we are all doing the best we can in this wild trip of being as healthy as we can. <3

Have a great day and I will see you soon!
XO
