Metallic

I love the fact that this can be a varied use of products to create a metallic nail. Nailchemy has a wide range of items that can create beautiful metallic nails. First up, the Gods gel polish collection. Eight solid colors with a metallic finish, including a beautiful blue in Hades. Ensuring that not only as a nail technician, you can offer one of the most popular nail finishes of the summer but also in the color of the year!

Another Nailchemy collection that not only offers a metallic finish, but also a marble effect would be the metallic ink polishes, also a collection of eight colors. Metallics don’t have to only be in gel polish form. Nailchemy also offers a range of metallic foils and metallic foil sheets, leaving their customers with plenty of options to choose from!

Yellow

Yellow. It will become one of the most popular colors for summer. Hoping to be nice and bright to complement the weather. Nailchemy’s yellow gel polish for summer has to be Honeysuckle from the Faerie Garden collection. A creamier yellow but equally pleasant and bright. For those customers who enjoy brighter nails, Toxic Tonic from the Spring 2018 collection will definitely appeal to you.

For some clients, a full set of solid-color nails just isn’t enough (those who also love a little sparkle). Gemini from the Astrology collection would look super sparkly rocking like a rock star in the base colors of Honeysuckle or Toxic Tonic. For customers looking for a more subtle yellow, Daylily from the Summer 2018 collection would be perfect. For acrylic nail techs who like to try out design games, Begonia from the Indian Summer collection is a gorgeous bright yellow acrylic. It would pair perfectly with an ombre with Peach or Blossom coverage of the main Genesis colors.

dark green

To be honest, dark green is not a color I would consider wearing. Until I had seen it used to create a set of nails in negative space. It was a real forest green color that contrasted so much with the color of the builder gel that it changed my mind completely. A true Forest Green can be found in Shaman from the Midnight Magic collection. A bright/metallic green gel polish called Hawthorn from the Fall 2018 collection, makes a beautiful pair of “accent” nails when used together with Shaman.

Shades for garden parties

So if someone asked me what I would consider “Garden Party Shades,” I would immediately think of flowers. Thus, the typical flowers in your garden are carnations, dahlias, peonies, without forgetting the green leaves. Nailchemy’s Spring 2020 collection ticks all of these boxes and is aptly called the Faerie Garden collection. With gel polish names like Tulip, Cornflower, Apple Blossom and Honeysuckle to name a few, Nailchemy definitely has you covered for their Garden Party Shades.

cakes

So for this section I’m going to reference one of Nailchemy’s first collections of 2018, the summer collection. It is the perfect collection for pastel tones. If I had to describe this collection, it would be a soft rainbow. Pastel colors from across the spectrum. Allowing one nail of each color!

soft orange

Soft orange is always a popular color during the summer months. Many of my clients opt for an orange shade to complement their tan or upcoming events they may have. Nailchemy has a couple of soft orange shades to offer. Dahlia from the Summer 2018 collection and also Tulip from the Faerie Garden collection.

Blue

The color Blue. It will become the number one color used in 2020. Nailchemy definitely does not lack the color blue. My absolute favorite they have to offer is Lupine from the Fall 2018 collection. If I don’t know what color to put on my nails, I always go back to Lupine. It is a very intense blue color, slightly metallic and shiny. In some lights an intense blue shines and in others touches of violet. Other Blue products that you can find at Nailchemy are: – Stratosphere, an almost royal blue chrome powder. Blue Raspberry from the Forbidden Fruits collection, as well as Paw Paw. Starman, Ice, Periwinkle and Bluebell from the Genesis acrylic system. Plus blue glows like Rigel and Pisces to name a few.

Naked

If someone asked me to describe a nude color, the first color that comes to mind is beige. However, nude colors can be a range of different colors, often referring to skin tones. As we all have different colors and variations of skin tones, so does Nailchemy within their Nude collection. Here you will see a range of roses such as Albertine and Hibiscus. To a beige in Caribbean Sand. A gorgeous brown shade in Cocoa and a rich metallic peach in Oyster.

mate

Matte nails. A dull finish. Not all clients will be fans of matte nails. I myself love the way they look. I wasn’t sure I could use them. Until I found Nailchemy’s Velvet Matte finish. Exactly as it says in the name. It gives the nail an effect that is not shiny to look at and yet super soft to the touch. I love being able to give customers the option to choose the finish and being able to show them how the top coats are different. Both No Wipe Top Coat and Velvet Matte Top Coat can completely change the look of the same color. Plus, it gets another use for itself. It is not only an excellent finishing effect, but also a great surface for nail art. It allows for a super smooth surface, complementing Nailchemy’s handcrafted gel paints, for customers who like to have a little more. If you don’t already have Nailchemy’s Velvet Matte Top Coat, you really need it!

80s nails

80s-inspired nails are making a comeback this summer. Think neon. Think of geometric shapes. One nail of each color and some color blocks and you’re done. The entire Forbidden Fruits collection would be great to use as neon gel polish colors. Another great product that would create amazing color blocking, over Nailchemy’s Onyx Gel Polish, would be their neon pigments. If you have particularly adventurous clients, use Nailchemy’s Lumos Top Coat to really finish off a set of neon nails, making them glow in the dark!

Tresillo

Ombre nails! Who doesn’t love an Ombre nail? Although Ombre is not as we know it. So when I’m asked about an Ombre nail, I immediately go for the French Ombre. Classic pink and white nail that is very popular. But not. Not this summer.

When we were asked for Ombre nails, some of us technicians, without hesitation, took the acrylic brush and created a great Ombre. Some of us technicians, especially when asked for Ombre gel polish, just want the seat to swallow us up, while we attempt the dreaded mix between gel polish colors. However, this summer it is possible for all of us to be saved. No more mixing. An Ombre I had never considered before.

So first you choose your color and then you choose 3,4 or 5 shades of that color. Starting from thumb to pinky, using the lightest color first and working your way back painting a different shade on each nail. Thus, an “Ombre” effect is created on all fingers. No more fighting for that “perfect” blend. So we all end up criticizing ourselves, that it could have been done better. So this will definitely be a new design that I will try and wear this summer.

I can’t wait to see your future nail trend designs for summer 2020! Don’t forget to tag your nail photos with #NailchemySummer2020 so I can see your creations!
