Six years ago, my friend Liz had the brilliant idea of starting a soup group to help us overcome a long and dark winter.
Its launch was simple: we would turn off the soup dinners at home, one or two or two. That’s all!
We loved the afternoons that we continue to pass through spring, summer, autumn, the following winter, etc. I have been very grateful for this type of repeated activity: it feels like a beat, especially during difficult times. (Can I imagine that it could be similar to how the church feels, only in terms of seeing the same people in a ritualized way?) Last week, we headed to Linsey’s house, where he made a rich and delicious tortilla soup.
We always leave the night with recommendations of books, professional ideas, parenting stories and nail polish colors. (Do you remember Gisela’s pink shell?)
As Linsey’s tortilla soup was so good, I asked him to share his non -prescription. Here goes:
Save carrots and onions, and season how you like your tacos (a mixture of taco condiments is fine!). Add chicken breast to brown. Then add the bone broth, a pair of cubes -cut tomato cans (it is worth finding the roast type!) And green chiles. Add Lima juice to taste, in addition to a spoonful of sour cream. Serve with the ingredients you want: avocado, coriander, files, cheddar cheese, black beans, corn, scallions, sour cream, tortilla chips, etc.
(Any other soup recipe you love? I’m always looking for good!)
Soup group, it is. 2019
Interlop Toby Holding Court one night;)
I adore it, and it’s very simple! Thoughts? Would you organize a soup group? Do you organize another type of meeting, or Reading Club or career group? I would love to listen … XOXOXO
PD that organizes an articles club, and four ways in which I learned to deepen friendships.
