I Couldn’t Stop Thinking About This Cake, So I Tracked Down The Recipe

My favorite bar is one that serves snacks: peanuts, fried potatoes, an emergency hot dog, whatever. They are almost as important as drinks. In the cozy Brooklyn Spot Dynaco, there is usually a fresh cake behind the bar. Recently, while my girlfriend and I played cards, I had a portion that I had not yet tried: a ginger chocolate cake with a whipped cream cheese glaze. I have not stopped thinking about it.

Finally, I tracked Catherine Lloyd Burns, whose husband began the bar with her brother in 2013.
