For those of you who participate in butter campaigns, I know we just have to publish on our social networks and then raise a review on the Butterly or Brand website, but for some reason I felt forced to add a blog post. Maybe I feel nostalgic for blogging this week, since I have more time for me or maybe it is because Clean was one of the first fragrances I had in my perfume collection. It is probably a combination of the two, but in any case I wanted to give this sample of 3ml rollerball some love.
When I started using fragrances, I preferred more “literal” aromas such as Gap’s Grass and Clean’s Shower Fresh and Warm Cody. In fact, I’m using warm cotton while writing this publication! I have always loved the aroma of fresh clothes and warm cotton, so it reminded me a lot. Over the years, Clean has evolved and added to its fragrance repository, but the aromas have always been unique, light and luminable. I remember attending an event when there was a launch of its clean reserve line and fragrances were much more sophisticated and complex than fresh shower days, but I liked it! They did not feel too floral or female and worked for men and women.
Kipped Cherry is the first time I tried a “gourmand fruity” from Clean and at first I was a bit scared of how cherry could translate and I usually never like the aroma of cherries that are not in real life. This aroma is intended to be like a cocktail in layers with a dessert of pralines and vanilla cream in its nucleus covered with a wild cherry! I was pleasantly surprised that Behip Cherry would have left more than vanilla with the most subtle cherry. I also felt that this aroma was very creamy and a bit “crazy” and this was before reading what the notes were, so I’m glad my nose was semi-precise in this!
Main notes: wild cherry, pineapple, coconut water, orange zest
Medium notes: Almond Blossom, Palaine, Mimosa, Osmanthus
Dry notes: vanilla cream, cedar wood, musk, sandalwood
Final verdict: Dry time and wear is always the true indicator of whether a fragrance will work for me and I am happy to inform that even 8 hours later, I can still smell whipped cherry inside my wrists, but now it has dried now. To a creamy aroma of almonds/Praline that makes me want to have a dessert! This is definitely sweeter and out of respect for my boss and my office partner who hates the smell of vanilla, it would probably only collect this in a 10 ml rollerball to use the days when it is not!
