Dolly Parton announced an additional casting, the music team and the design team for the next world premiere of Dolly: An original musical As the trials begin in Dolly’s hometown, Nashville, TN.
As announced above, the production will begin previous performances on Friday, July 18 for an opening night on Friday, August 8 at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at the Campus of the University of Belmont. Peri Barnhill, graduated from the Musical Theater program of the Belmont University of Nashville, and Norah Nunes, resident of Houston, TX, are the two actors who were chosen as part of the national “Dolly Search.” Barnhill and Nunes were previously announced as two of the 15 finalists selected to travel to New York for auditions in person with the creative team.
Producers want to express their gratitude to all applicants. The search resulted in thousands of actors of all races, ages, genres and body types reviewed by representatives of the creative team for multiple roles in production. Many of those who presented videos had never been seen before a professional casting director.
