Share a summary of our experience with the gluten -free food tour of Barcelona.
Hello friends! How are you? I hope you are having a great week. We are enjoying being back at home even though we are definitely losing our adventures in Spain. After 5 weeks in Europe, I definitely got used to that life 😉
Something we learned during our trip: how much we love Barcelona. It was our first time and since the pilot could not reach the trip, he was there during the last four days of our time, we told him that we just have to return.
An important culminating point: the gluten -free food tour, directed by Dvir Bar.
As you know, we are great food lovers and we love to review new meals and restaurants locally and when we travel. I have been strict without gluten for two years as part of my healing trip, and in January, we knew that P had a severe gluten sensitivity. While I have been in the gluten -free block for a while, P is still learning … Sometimes (very understandably) is disabled when there is no gluten -free option for it.
To cheer up their Barcelona day, I investigated a little for gluten -free options and discovered that Barcelona is a shelter for gluten -free food options and that they had a popular gluten -free food tour. I registered us instantly.
When the day came, P and I were quite excited about it. Liv was a good sport and excited to try some new foods.
Our guide, Dvir, was absolutely wonderful. He spoke English (our group of 11 people was all American) and has been celiac for 40 years. He knew the best of the best places in Barcelona, and took us to six different places for incredible gluten -free options. We had chocolate, ham, ice cream in gluten -free cones, pizza, cakes, empanadas, it was incredible.
I loved how the tour was installed. We walked all the time, and when we got to each place, they had multiple samples to try. In the Pizza restaurant, our table had five full pizzas of the best flavors. He gave us the opportunity to try many different things, and we were very full and happy at the end.
While I don’t want to ruin the surprises of the tour, here are my three best places we visit:
-Glutery for gluten -free empanadas.
Chicken and onion were everything … I’m going to dream of empanada until we return.
Look at this face. Pure joy.
– Bakery Cøliaki.
We tried a variety of gluten -free cakes, including Nutella croissants that release my soul. In general, GF cakes are disappointing and these were light, tasty and perfectly sweet.
– Messi Pizza.
Pizza is another thing that often disappoints in the gluten -free world. In general, it is super crunchy, chewable and/or soft. This was a real pizza and we could try some incredible flavors. I also had my first beer in years! I think they have 40 different types of gluten -free beer?
If you are celiac or gluten -free for health reasons, or you simply love food and want to try new places, I cannot recommend this tour enough. It is directed that he reserves in advance, so he reserves his place as soon as he knows that he goes to Barcelona. The link is here!
And just a warning, this is not sponsored or anything like that and happily paid for our participation. I’m glad to run my voice!
So, tell me, friends: What is your favorite food destination?
Gluten -free friends: What is your favorite guten food or restaurant?
Xoxo
