Kitchen remodeling horror history: Where is my jewels?!?

Kitchen remodeling horror history: Where is my jewels?!?

Roberta T. De Cornell, NY, tells her terrible story about a horrible experience with an important center of the houses center:

I hired for a kitchen remodeling project more than a year, but the project is still incomplete.

In the middle of my project, the employee who was originally working with me at the center of origin, Cynthia, resigned. However, nobody told me or reassigned to a new employee.

The original design that Cynthia made for me did not work. Nor was it to encode. Several cabinet articles had to be returned (since they did not fit).

At this point, the kitchen department manager, Allison, came to my house to redesign my kitchen. She never answered me in any of my questions about the design and I have not had his news since then.

The contractors that I hired to install my kitchen, which were supposedly recommended by the center of the house, have been a disaster. I paid to level the floor, but the cabinets are clearly not aligned. The decorative wooden pieces are damaged. My range bell has been ordered three times separated, but I still don’t have it. My outdoor lights and my GFI outings have not worked since the electrician came to install the built -in lighting. Some of the cabinet doors were not hung evenly.

The center of the house never ordered the base molding, although it appears in all the drawings they gave me. My mosaic had to be rearranged because there was a lack of part. Worst of all, I got home one day to find $ 500. There were a couple of earrings in my jeweler.

No one from my center of origin has addressed any of my problems. I am currently looking for a lawyer, but they shrug when I tell you that I am going to sue, because they are a multimillion -dollar corporation with a full -time lawyers.

So far I have spent more than $ 65,000. I thought I had gone to one of the best places, just to have a very expensive job ruined by a terrible service and dishonest and dishonest contractors.

I have to eat all my meals. After the theft of my earrings, now I am nervous because the thieves return to my house and break. It has been difficult to raise all the stairs that lead to the door of my house without illuminating; Without GFI in my bathroom, I am forced to use exits in other parts of the house to comb myself. I have been very inconvenient and poorly informed.

Oh! I am very sorry to listen to your problems, Roberta. That is a story of terrifying precaution, and we hope everything is resolved for you. Unfortunately, stories like yours are too common, and contractors like that make the whole industry look bad. There are too many companies that promise anything that generates volume, but finally worries little about customer satisfaction.

There is an important lesson that we can learn from Roberta’s experience. Selecting a contractor to work at home is a decision that should never be taken lightly. We cannot recommend enough to take time and do its due diligence. Ask the right questions of multiple possible contractors and go with the one that demonstrates your competition with something more than just words. A truly reliable design builder may support your promises with documentation and customer reviews that show their legitimacy and history.
