What is a fresh water?
Fresh water (which translates into “fresh water”) is a widely popular refreshing drink in Central and South America, Mexico and parts of the Caribbean. In general, it is a combination of water and sugar mixed with fruits, flowers or other tasty ingredients.
It is believed that the manufacture of water fresh can go back centuries and that the Aztec people have originally created them. The next is our inspired, naturally sweetened shot, based on one we tried in Mexico.
How to make a lime lima fresh water
This fresh water uses subtle, cooling goodness and thirst for one of our favorite vegetables: Cucumber! The best part? You don’t even have to peel them. Just wash, cut and mix the blender!

Together with the cucumber, the lime juice adds bright fruits, while the agave nectar (or Arce syrup) adds a touch of sweetness. The mint is optional but highly recommended!

After combining the ingredients with water, it is as easy as mixture, tension and service. Pasy easy, tight Lima! This is how it goes, right?

Portions 4 (~ 1 cup of portions)
Prevent your screen from getting dark
- 3 Cups water
- 2 half Pepinos, abruptly chopped (2 medium cucumbers produce ~ 4 cups or 450 g chopped)
- 3 half Limas (3 medium limes ~ 1/4 cup or 60 ml of juice)
- 23 Tablespoon Cave Nectar or Arce Syrup
- 1 little handful Fresh mint leaves (Optional but highly recommended // 1 small yield yields ~ 15-20 sheets)
- Ice cubes (To serve)
-
Before mixing, we recommend trying your cucumbers to see if the peel is bitter. We leave our peels for vibrant color and flavor, but bitter peels must be removed.
-
Add all the ingredients to a blender (starting with the least amount of agave or maple syrup) and mix until it is completely soft. Pour through a fine mesh strainer on a large bowl or a cup of measuring to remove the pulp, using a spoon to move it and accelerate the effort as necessary. Try and adjust, adding more agave or maple syrup for sweetness or more lime juice for acidity.
-
Serve cold, on ice. The leftovers are maintained for 1-2 days in the refrigerator, or they can freeze in ice cubes or pallet molds!
*Nutritional information is an approximate estimate calculated with the least amount of agave nectar and without optional ingredients.
