The Hamptons’ most anticipated summer gala returned with record-breaking generosity, global flavors, and an atmosphere inspired by Marrakesh.
A Landmark Night for Healthcare
On Saturday, August 2, nearly 400 guests gathered beneath the storied tents on Wickapogue Road for the Southampton Hospital Foundation’s 67th Annual Summer Party.
The benefit raised an impressive $1.6 million in support of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the new Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department—one of the most successful evenings in the event’s long history.
Moroccan Elegance Meets Hamptons Tradition
Designed by DeJuan Stroud, the “Night in Marrakesh” theme enveloped guests in jewel-toned décor, intricate lanterns, and lush florals. From henna artistry to the soulful voice of American Idol alum Christiaan Padavan, the atmosphere transported guests far beyond the Hamptons.
The festivities opened with cocktails featuring The Macklowe’s Gold Fashioned and wines from Wölffer Estate Vineyard, paired with globally inspired hors d’oeuvres like Mediterranean Lamb Sliders, Maakouda, Short Rib Croquettes, and Vietnamese Summer Rolls.
Dinner, curated by Elegant Affairs, reflected both local and international influences—beginning with dates, apricots, and khubz, followed by a refreshing cucumber, peach, and tomato salad. The entrée showcased Montauk Sea Bass seasoned with Ras el Hanout alongside Petite Filet Mignon.
Desserts were served family-style, with baklava, kunefe, and Turkish delights bringing the Moroccan theme full circle.
Honoring Philanthropic Leaders
This year’s benefit recognized Kate and Andrew Davis for their steadfast advocacy and contributions to expanding healthcare access across the East End.
The evening was chaired by Sarah Wetenhall, with support from an esteemed committee of vice chairs including Hollis Forbes, Jean Shafiroff, Melanie Wambold, Cindy Willis, Margo Nederlander, Sheila Fuchs, and Laura Lofaro Freeman.
A Celebration with Purpose
The spirited paddle auction, led by celebrity auctioneer Lydia Fenet, energized the crowd before guests danced into the night to music by Overdrive.
More than a glamorous evening, the event underscored the East End community’s deep commitment to ensuring world-class healthcare for all.
