Rapid mave tips
Soften your bread. This is essential to ensure that you can roll your mill sandwiches. I do this for 30-40 seconds in the microwave.
Use a folder. Cream cheese is my favorite “folder”, but you can be creative here. The vegan cream cheese works or without dairy, but so does the hummus or even the tzatziki. More ideas are listed below.
Advance… But not far! I like to do them up to 24 hours in advance and store in the refrigerator. You can do them up to 3 days in advance, but keep in mind that it can mean that the wraps are soaked a bit.
Personalize. Many ideas of mill sandwich below, but do not hesitate to customize to your liking.
Serve as lunch or snacks. These make an easy lunch recipe or fingers for game day. My children love them too!
Ingredients in the Molinillo sandwiches
- Base – I like to use flour tortillas as my sandwich base, but you can also use sink, flat bread or even large pieces of lettuce.
- Spread -This is what maintains its rolling together. I like to use cream cheese, but other ideas include hummus, tzatziki, Baba Ganoush or even pesto.
- Meat – My preference is for smoked turkey, but you can use any delicatessen meat, fine sliced chicken, cooked bacon or even smoked salmon.
- Cheese – Any sliced cheese works here, but I can’t deny a turkey + cheddar!
- Vegetables – Typically green leafy green, but you can also use peppers, cucumbers or ragged carrots in fine slices if you wish.
How to make mill sandwiches
Step 1: It extends evenly
It strengthens your tortillas in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. Extend your softened cream cheese in a uniform layer over the 4 tortillas. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning (or anything but Bagel’s seasoning) equally on tortillas.

Step 2: Add meats, cheese + vegetables
Along the lower layer of the tortilla layer in 2 turkey slices, 2 cheese slices and a small handful of spinach.

Step 3: roll + slice
Starting from the lower part by woring your tortilla in a trunk and then shelter in 1 inch mills

Easy swaps and substitutions
Exchange meat – Add a different Deli meat such as chicken, salami or ham will work instead of smoked turkey. Smoked salmon would also be a creative substitute!
Change vegetables – I like to use spinach, but any leafy green will work in these.
Use a different cheese – Any sliced cheese will work here.
Change the sauce – Instead of using cream cheese, you can replace it with hummus, if you wish. Tzatziki would also be great just like pesto or any other creamy sauce.
Add pickles – I love adding the acidity of the pickles to my turkey turkey sandwiches. I would recommend using bread in bread and butter.
Add bacon – To give your mill sandwiches plus a “Cobb” salad flavor, you can always add cooked and chopped bacon.
