The beloved youth novel Children of blood and bone is being made into a movie at Paramount Pictures and a star-studded cast was just announced.

The king woman director Gina Prince-Bythewood will direct the film, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Tomi Adeyemi.

The production will begin filming in South Africa in the coming weeks, with more cast members being added from an open casting call for actors living in Nigeria.

In Children of blood and boneIn an African fantasy kingdom, a young woman goes on a quest to recover the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally themselves with the king’s daughter and son to fight against his brutal rule.
