Don’t lose your sparkle! – Nailchemy Limited

In this current global situation, it seems so easy to put down the tools, put away the glitter, and eradicate color from your daily routine. As nail artists and estheticians, the daily routine means interacting with our clients, sharing friendly conversations, and having the opportunity to showcase our creativity and skills.

When Boris announced that our country, as well as others, had to go into lockdown, I bet. Like mine, your heart sank into a frenzy of panic and disappointment.
No daily routine, no clients, no business, no creativity. The fact is that we have been and will all be affected in some way due to this global crisis, but the worst thing we can do is stop.

We are always very busy; We forget to do certain things to support our creativity and that of our business. We rarely have time to promote ourselves, try new things, learn a new skill, or simply practice our skills to improve them. Well, now is the time.

Start joining social media groups full of like-minded people, become part of a community, and get support from others. Believe me, it’s the best medicine in all this doom and gloom. As a Nailchemy educator, I found comfort in being part of a supportive, caring, and motivating community of nail technicians and estheticians.

We all come from different backgrounds, have different skill sets and experiences, but we support everyone’s individuality and encourage development. We share ideas and teach each other new techniques and most importantly, we are there for each other all the time and especially now. You don’t have to be a Nailchemy educator or ambassador to join our community. Find us on Facebook and join.

Every week there is a program of live sessions where our incredible ambassadors
Host creative nail workshops to highlight how you can create clever effects on your clients to add to your services or just to try out. Workshops showcase nail art techniques using gel polish, genesis acrylic, aura acrylic gel and more. Our highly trained ambassadors are some of the best in the business and dedicate their time to helping others be creative.

During this lockdown period, there is even more to delight in. The Nailchemy team is busy coming up with some entertaining and online courses and workshops for you to enjoy and participate in. Follow us on social media to stay up to date with what’s coming up.

In the meantime, get to work. Get motivated and start planning for when we all get back to it. Make a list of things you’ve always wanted to do but never have time for. This may involve getting familiar with marketing, creating social media posts, or practicing a new skill in nail art or beauty. If you are looking for information about social media and a little motivation, listen to my podcast.

As a beauty business owner and Nailchemy educator, I’m also in the same boat as all of you, so I put together this podcast to help you come to some sense. In this episode we talk about the effects on the beauty industry in this current climate, we have some great social media marketing tips and digital flamingo tips. Some fun little features are also included.

If you sometimes struggle to find inspiration, all you need to do is look around you. Create something to show the beautiful, pure support we all give to each other. Maybe a family member or friend has done something good for you recently, maybe they believe something that emanates from them.

I’ve seen so many beautiful creations on social media recently like this beautiful rainbow-inspired piece of art by one of our Nailchemists, Carly Dorman:

I myself have decided to take inspiration from the Prime Minister’s messages as I feel it is very important to listen to them as these images will remain with us for a long time. I created 5 nail tips that exude the importance of staying home. Saving and appreciating our NHS, and also a familiar character.

Check out this video of how I created them.

I used all of the Nailchemy colors and decided to go with the red, white and blue theme. I really enjoyed making them. Why not try it yourself and share what you’ve designed using #NailchemyStayAtHome?

Lastly, stay busy, stay strong, take care of yourself and others, and stay home. We will make it.
