5 ingredient fruit sauce

The ingredients for this fall of the fruit are definitely more than the sum of its parts. Combined all together, they make one of the most acute fruit splashes in history!

  • Greek yogurt: It is important to use thick Greek yogurt for this fall or, otherwise, it will be too liquid. Several flavors of the Greek yogurt will work here: coconut, vanilla or lime.
  • Fresh lime juice and zest: A lime will be enough for this recipe: go easy with the juice (so that immersion does not decrease) and the zest (too much or the zest of the lime can lend a bitter taste). You can always add more to taste at the end.
  • Vanilla extract: It does not need much, but the small amount helps to enrich the taste.
  • Morena sugar: Like vanilla, you don’t need much, but add taste depth (and help sweetness if your yogurt is slightly sweetened or sugar without sugar). You can submarine coconut sugar or palm sugar for brown sugar.

That’s all! Mix everything. Add additional lime juice, lime zest or brown sugar to taste, if necessary.

How to cut a watermelon into sticks

Certainly, you can cut the watermelon in any way you want, but cutting it into sticks makes the immersion easy! And it is so easy and less messy than cutting it into cubes.

  1. Cut the watermelon in the wide medium as shown below (like a hamburger bun).
  2. Take half and place it on a cutting board.
  3. Cut four rounded sides leaving a bucket shape.
  4. Cut the watermelon in thick strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
  5. Turn the cutting board 90 degrees and cut the strips perpendicular to the slices already made.

Depending on the circumference and general size of the watermelon you are using, It will probably get between 20 and 25 sticks by means of watermelon.

What to serve this fruit sauce with

While watermelon is our best option for this creamy fruit sauce, it is also excellent served with:

  • cantaloupe
  • honeydew
  • Golden melons

And since the flavors are fresh, creamy and fruity, it is likely to be delicious with other fruits that are not melancholic, such as strawberries, grapes and more.

This creamy watermelon sauce is the perfect funny snack to prepare during the summer months. And it would be fabulous for your next meal eating or food for BBQ. He is so delicious and is forced to receive raves criticism!

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar, palm sugar or coconut sugar (see note)
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • In a small bowl, revolve the yogurt, the juice of Lima, the zest of Lima, the brown sugar and the vanilla.

  • Add additional lime juice, lime zest or brown sugar to taste, if necessary.

  • Refrigerate until it is ready to serve (up to a week).

  • Serve cold sauce with watermelon (it is delicious in any melon variety: Honeydew, melon, etc.).

Yogurt: It is important to use Greek yogurt or the fall will be too liquid.
Lime juice: You can add more lime juice to the flavor, keep in mind that the more juice you add, the thinner the sauce will be.
Sugar: The exact amount of sugar will depend on the sweetness of the yogurt you use. You can completely omit sugar if yogurt is already sweet enough: I like to add only a touch of brown sugar for the depth of flavor.
