Lauren says Lauren (two photos, above), who lives in Roland, Iowa: “I am very excited to start my second year of growing Dalias in the garden that my grandfather nourished for years. Last year I planted around 70 tubers, and it was the most magical experience. The next two weeks, I will plant about 100 additional tubes – tube.
“My friend brought me some seeds from her father’s farm in Sicily, but forgot what plant the seeds were. I was delighted to plant a mysterious seed. I thought it could be a zucchini. But as it began to grow, my ‘zucchini plant’ became this huge vid with huge pumpkins of Cinderella! We called it the year of the pumpkin.”
“We have a garden in the backyard, but I also make gardening of the front courtyard for a pure dressing table. I live in a busy street and I love fame and glory. My husband makes fun of me for sitting on the porch to get compliments of people who pass. But I act very humble and say things like, ‘Thank you! “I bought four small pots from Rosemary in the supermarket a couple of years ago and planted them through my main door. They have become huge and magnificent. Every time the brushes, they release the most beautiful aroma and are covered with blue flowers in spring.
